There is more to fitting a curtain than many people realise. The Plumbs Consultant has been trained thoroughly and has had years of experience. There are all sorts of tricks and tips to getting a truly professional finish. For example:
When hanging curtains on a track, Plumbs will ideally place a hook every 5 spaces, which is approx every 7.6 cm (3”). If this is not suitable, an alternative method is to measure the width of the heading tape when the curtain is pulled up then divide this by how many hooks are available.
We start by placing hooks from the edge of the curtain that will be in the middle of the window. If there is an odd spacing this will only be towards the outer edge of the curtain where it will not be as noticeable.
Your consultant will allow a small gap on the appropriate curtain for any overlap.
When hanging a pair of curtains that have a ½ width in, we always ensure that the ½ width is hung nearest to the wall so the seam will not be as noticeable when drawn. Wash labels are placed on the inside hem at the base of the curtains.
