About Plumbs

Plumbs was founded in the 1950's by Thomas and Bernice Plumb, initially as a market business. In the 1960's, their son, Geoff Plumb, developed the business into a mail order company specialising in a niche market of stretch furniture covers. Mr Plumb still plays an integral part of the Company as Chairman of the Board.

 

Today
Plumbs today is a professional customer focussed organisation producing over 1,000 made-to-measure orders every week. A huge technology investment includes in house photographic studio, state of the art Lectra manufacturing systems and quality DVDs. Plumbs also make a positive effort to develop staff and provide continuous training.

Plumbs continue to grow their in home made to measure service, particularly with curtains, traditional covers and reupholstery. New websites are exploring the potential for export. Plumbs will continue to provide our customers with a quality service and product.

Family Company
Plumbs Curtains is still owned and run by the same family that established the company over 45 years ago.
 
This is very much reflected in the friendly service and high levels of personal commitment exhibited by all our staff.

Plumbs was originally established as a market stall in the 1950s, by Thomas and Bernice Plumb. In the 1960s, their son Geoff developed the business into a mail order company, specialising in curtains and home furnishings, and has since overseen the transition to the unique Home Consultancy & Curtain services now on offer.

 

Geoff Plumb still plays an active part in the business and personally guarantees every set of curtains that the company produces. A number of other family members are also still actively involved in the business.
